Invitation to Make Recommendations

As indicated in the 2025 Strategic Plan, the Authority members have laid out some specific policies to take water conservation to the next level and incorporate it into our alternative water supply source planning. With this as the basis, and consistent with recommendations from the Water Congress and Century Commission, we believe that it would also be timely to reach out to the Alliance members to engage them as partners in building upon the regional conservation ethic. The Summit will therefore be designed to consider regional policy support for commitments and actions to enhance our permanent water conservation ethic as well as present some of the tools that are available for this effort.

Essential to the success of this Summit is input from individuals and groups interested in the sustainability of the region’s water resources. We also recognize the importance of engaging all members of the Water Alliance for their specific expertise and experience.  The PRMRWSA is seeking your ideas, recommendations, and even questions. 

Summit Delegates
To ensure the Water Conservation Summit results in specific policies, the PRMRWSA will also invite a delegate representing each Alliance member to actively participate through electronic voting.  However, all policy makers in the regional, their associated staff, and the public will be invited to attend and observe the activities at the Summit. 

Preparing the Groundwork
Water Conservation Summit participants, and the general public will be able to review pre-summit background information on the Commission’s website.  The PRMRWSA will also ask each delegate to provide information relating to:

1. Water Conservation related Comprehensive Plan Policies
2. Water Conservation related implementing Ordinances
3. List of Water Conservation Programs

These are broad categories and we welcome ALL thoughts and recommendations YOU may have regarding these and related matters.

The PRMRWSA will use the policy information generated by the Summit to develop and provide specific future action steps to Authority and Alliance members.
